Truck It Lets Park is a free app that helps HGV drivers find somewhere to park. It is built and run by one person (KrisCreates, UK). This page says exactly what the app does with data, in plain English. There are no ads, nothing is sold, and there are no accounts.
Your location
The app asks for your location so it can sort parking spots by how far away they are and draw your position on the map. Your location is used on the phone only and is never sent to us or anyone else. Every request the app makes to our service is checked for this: none carries a position. If you refuse the permission the app still works, sorted by score instead of distance.
What is shared with other drivers
Some things you do in the app are shown to other drivers, because that is the point of them. Only when you choose to do them:

Do not put your name, registration or anything identifying in a note or a photo unless you want other drivers to see it.
The install token
The first time the app runs it makes a random 32-character token and keeps it on the phone. It is sent with the reports, photos and spots you share so that duplicates can be dropped, abuse can be limited, and you can withdraw your own reports. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, Google account or device identifiers, and we have no way to turn it into any of those. Reinstalling the app creates a new one.
Kept on the phone only
Your favourites, the list of spots you have opened, your driving-hours setting, cab-mode setting, fuel brand, saved offline map areas and the "don't ask again" for the coffee prompt live on your phone and are never uploaded.
What our server records
For each shared report, photo or spot: the content above, the time it arrived, the app version, and a one-way hashed, truncated form of the sending IP address used solely to rate-limit abuse. The hash cannot be reversed to an IP address. Nothing else is logged about you. The service runs on hosting in Germany/UK (IONOS).

None of these receive your live position from us; route planning sends the start point you picked, which may be your location if you chose "my location".
Children
The app is for professional drivers and is not directed at children.
Removing your data
- Your reports: open the spot, find it under "You", tap REMOVE. It is withdrawn from the service on the next sync.
- Everything tied to your install token, or a photo or spot: email kris@kriscreates.co.uk with the spot name and roughly when; we will remove it. Because the token is not linked to you, quote it from the app if you can (it will be shown under Settings in a future version).
- Uninstalling deletes everything kept on the phone. Shared reports, photos and spots remain unless you remove them first, as they no longer belong to any identifiable person.
Moderation
Shared content is moderated by hand. Abusive, false or unsafe reports, photos or spots may be hidden or deleted, and an install token that sends them may be blocked from sharing further.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the app will point to the new version. Questions: kris@kriscreates.co.uk.
